The Solution The Streets of The Capital
Jakarta's congestion is a common thing, and the lonely streets seem to be just wishful thinking. For many people living in Jakarta, ordinary workers make money. As time passes each year the streets of the capital get crowded until the existing streets can not keep up with the population of existing vehicles.
In order to solve the congestion problem in the Capital of Jakarta, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) collects a number of parties responsible for the development of public transportation in Jakarta. Starting at 09.30 AM, the discussion is packaged in Focus Group Discussion (FGD) that every company involved in the project must present one by one mass transportation development projects. Some of the projects already underway are the construction of LRT route Bekasi Timur - Cawang, LRT Cibubur - Cawang and LRT Kelapa Gading - Rawamangun.
According to Jakarta Capital City Statistics 2015, the number of motorcycles increased by 10.54%, passenger cars increased by 8.75% and public vehicles only increased by 2.13%. From the data it is not surprising that the capital's roads are getting crowded and public transportation in Jakarta has not been able to meet the needs.
If only the riders wanted to lower their ego to switch to public transportation, it would greatly reduce the density in the capital. But public transportation in Jakarta has not been able to meet all of these needs. Government and transport service providers should work together to set up safe and convenient facilities to reduce congestion and create a sense of comfort together.
In some European Countries or Overseas they overcome traffic congestion generally build underground rail connections in downtown, economy and activities, provide convenient and timely bus services, expensive private vehicle taxes and high fuel prices make the community encouraged to use public transportation modes such as monorail and commuter line as well as bicycles for everyday chaos. Smart City as a solution to overcome congestion because it can answer at least 3 (three) important things, namely: (a) know (sensing) the state of the city, (b) understanding (understanding) the state of the city further, and (c) can perform action (acting ) to the problem arises. Overcoming congestion is one of the goals to increase the sense of security and comfort for its citizens, making the city more effective and efficient and improve competitiveness and economic growth and income distribution. With this smart technology, people can manage their time to work. Therefore let us overcome the congestion with smart technology that effectively and efficiently, able to overcome congestion in big city cities in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. Ministry of Technology and Higher Education can coordinate various elements to form a consortium to make Smart City pilot in Indonesia. Hopefully......
